Hello, I'm Glynn Willock, I have been a member of W.Y.A.S. for just two years now. I was unsure about committing  to joining at first as I didn't know if it was for me but after a couple more meetings and a look through other members scopes, oh, and my missus saying, go on you've always been interested, I decided to join. And I must say, I  enjoy it immensely. We have a good club with a friendly, pleasant and helpful group of members and in my opinion a sound, secure and very capable committee who won't allow things to get out of hand. So I stood for chairman and was accepted. I feel honoured to hold this position.

I became interested in astronomy and planetary science about 19 years ago. I found the members of WYAS to be very supportive but the more I found out about space the more I wanted to know. I have now completed a BSc degree in astrophysics and planetary science with the Open University and, despite the hard work and exams, enjoyed every minute of it. I am also heavily into astro-imaging, which fits in nicely with my love of photography. I am one of the main speakers in the club and can do talks on just about anything to do with space.
